Meet Cheerio! This cereal box-sized schnauzer mix puppy is a perfect blend of sweet and nutty and came to us from a local accidental litter. Let’s be honest…most of us don’t have 11 friends or family members that are looking to take a puppy off our hands, and we are excited to help with this little one! Especially because we are spaying his mom!

This little man is itty bitty and reminds us of the Honey Nut Cheerio Bee…always buzzing around like a busybody, following the crowd, and looking for attention from anyone and everyone! He was born on Father’s Day and has a mix of a schnauzer and terrier in there, hiding behind those teeny tiny wiry whiskers that tickle with every nuzzle. Trust us when we say there is nothing artificial about him! So far Cheerio is just a really good puppy. He is fairly go-with-the-flow, light-hearted, and cheerful and adores being close. Just a sweet and gentle puppy! He loves anything reminiscent of culinary inspiration! Food? Yes, please. Treats? Yes, please. Meals? Snacks? Yes, please. This little one is a doll, with a super sweet face and the best elbow tufts of perfect fawn fur and he can’t wait to be cherished for all of his days.

Cheerio looks to his humans for directions and seems to grasp the idea of house training, asking to go out when his humans are home. Because he likes to be close, he tends to get underfoot but we assume he will have a wider berth when he gains confidence in his new foster home and learns the routine.

Puppies are soooooo cute, and puppy breath is THE BEST! But puppies are a lot of work and take dedication, patience, love, training, and real commitment to turn them into amazing adults. And a reminder that while puppies are undeniably adorable, they also represent a long-term commitment. Medium sized dogs often live 12-16 years, and we’re looking for a family that’s excited to love, guide, and care for this puppy through every stage of life – from playful puppyhood to his senior years. Adoption Donation

Note: We spend well over $500 on the average intact adult dog coming into our rescue, which covers all standard vetting including spay/neuter, equipment, food, and preventative care while with us. The cost only rises if a deserving dog needs any additional vetting, and even simple appointments add up fast. While our adoption fees are intentionally lower to find great homes more quickly, we will gladly and graciously take additional donations to help offset these fees!
