Thank you for wanting to open your heart to a pit bull in need! Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. prides ourselves on spending extra time with our thorough adoption process to make sure our pups and their forever families are set up for a lifetime of happiness. Being a foster-home based rescue means we understand our dogs’ personalities in a home setting and what type of environment would set them up for success.
We go the extra mile with our adoption process to understand our adopters’ households to make a match made in heaven. While we understand that looks can be important, we focus our efforts on finding a match based on household, lifestyle, and temperament for the best chance of a happily-ever-after. Our matchmakers are invested in your family and are volunteering their time to help make a great forever match. Our adoption process consists of the following:
- Reference Checks
- Both veterinary and personal references are required
- Phone Interview
- Typically lasts 20-30 minutes with one of our knowledgeable matchmakers for us to understand your household
- Home Visit
- Our home checks are conducted both virtually and in person (depending on the circumstance), include verification of home ownership, and usually take around 30 minutes to complete
- Dog Meet
- Your family will be guided to meeting a dog that would be a good match – all family members are required to be present
- Next Steps
- Subsequent steps are determined at initial dog meet, especially when you have a resident dog
- Adoption
- We ask your family to wait 24-hours before scheduling an adoption to make sure all are committed – if all agree, we schedule the adoption as soon as volunteer schedules will allow
