“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.” Meet Scarlett O’Hara! This 1-year old sweet and petite red head (with the BEST perma-pout around!) came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray. And we LOVE HER!!!! Just like Gone With the Wind, the resilience of Scarlett is impressive as she strives to rebuild her life despite the immense hardship of being abandoned. Her go-to move is flopping on her back. Not because she wants an adorable belly rub, but because she is submissive to her core. She came to us with a significant skin infection, and we have been working hard to get it under control.
Scarlett is reminiscent of a mini Dogue de Bordeaux, though at a fraction of the size. In fact, our Scarlett is also famous for her fashionably small waist, but that’s only because she needs to gain some much-needed lbs. But at 36 lbs, she will always be the perfect size! This ginger beauty is a beloved classic and a character in her own right and loves, loves, loves love of any type. She is incredibly affectionate and so grateful for all she is given. Scarlett is a compelling exploration of love, loss, and an enduring spirit. And this redheaded beauty is waiting to make someone so very happy. She is incredibly sweet and captures the hearts of everyone she meets. We keep telling her the best is yet to come. “After all, tomorrow is another day.” Could you be Scarlett’s Rhett Butler (until the end)? Because of lack of history, older or no kids would be best for this sweet girl.
Scarlett’s top 3 priorities: 1. A loving family with extra kindness who will love and cherish this trusting soul. 2. A family who is looking to add one easy and affectionate pup to their household. 3. A family who isn’t fussy – who will snuggle up with this rusty lady on the couch or in bed, will clean up any accidents she has as she acclimates to a new home, and who freely gives treats!

The cost only rises if a deserving dog needs any additional vetting, and even simple appointments add up fast. While our adoption fees are intentionally lower to find great homes more quickly, we will gladly and graciously take additional donations to help offset these fees!
