Meet Fern! This 3-year old happy houseplant came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray. Fern is truly a go-with-the-flow type of plant! He loves to take walks and have a great play sesh, but also content just hanging out. He is outgoing and a social butterfly but holds his tribe close to his heart.
Fern is low maintenance! He is great in the car and carries around his special stuffed teddy bear without destroying it. He might bark at the vacuum or ironing board….we get it, buddy…we hate chores, too. But really, he spends his day supervising his people and likes to sleep on a nearby couch while his foster dad works from home. Fern is only 57-lb but a long and lanky gentleman who needs to gain a few lbs! He doesn’t realize how big he is and bounces around like an endearing little puppy. And his magical and secret superpower is giving boundless love freely to everyone he meets. No one is a stranger.
Ferns are often associated with symbolism related to growth, new beginnings, and resilience and this describes our Fern perfectly. He is a magical and sincere pup just looking for his future. This adaptable plant definitely thrives indoors with the right amount of love and will certainly bloom in his forever home! Because of lack of history, older or no kids would be best for this sun- and shade-friendly dude.
Fern’s top 3 priorities: 1. A loving family where someone is home often – a work-from-home situation would be perfect since Fern loves to be close to his people. 2. A family who is up for adventure with their 4-legged companion – one who enjoys walking and playing. 3. A family who will snuggle up with this sweet man on the couch or in bed and loves the idea of dogs getting comfy on the furniture.

The cost only rises if a deserving dog needs any additional vetting, and even simple appointments add up fast. While our adoption fees are intentionally lower to find great homes more quickly, we will gladly and graciously take additional donations to help offset these fees!
